Fender USA Machete 50W All Valve Head

A fantastic 50W all valve USA Fender head. The Machete range was a bit of a departure from Fender's usual offerings being a high-performance, high-end amp packed full of features which was aimed at the likes of Mesa. Retailing at around £ when released they are monster amps that are incredibly flexible. Channel one has a beautiful clean tone but, with its own gain control, can give some really great 'just breaking up' pushed tones and with the (footswitchable) gain boost engaged there's a really great Marshall-esque crunch. Channel two is capable of much higher levels of gain than you'd expect from a Fender! There's lots of smooth distortion with lots of harmonics available and with an active EQ section the tone controls are really effective. Lots of other features including footswitchable digital reverb, footswitchable series effects loop, MIDI controllable and XLR line out with speaker emulation if it is going to the PA. So I bought this brand new on a bit of a whim but to be honest has only had 4 or 5 hours use, has never left the house so is immaculate. C All Valve Handwired Rivera designed Fender Twin Reverb II.

A Fender Twin reverb II, the circuitry developed from its original form by Paul Rivera, and as far as I'm awar the last of the US made hand wired amps (no PCB's). In nice cosmetic order, save for the odd knick in the Tolex and the grill cloth having discoloured somewhat, the amp is fully functional, with the clean channel doing everything that its meant to, rendering crisp and shimmering cleans. The Lead channel is aptly named because its not a distortion channel, there isn't a massive amount of gain available, (although I understand that there are numerous mod's that can be done to get more of it, if that's your thing, personally I really wouldn't bother). This one has had a full set (Pre and Power) of JJ valves and the pots and jacks cleaned, and sounds just as it should, the reverb is fully functional, although it gets a bit clangy over 5 or 6, but is nice below that level.
