Fender Nocaster, Ltd Ed, Custom Shop, with Nacho Banos book
Fender Nocaster - Custom Shop - Closet Classic finish COA dates to 15 May - Serial number: R Matched serial numbered âThe Blackguardâ book by Nacho Banos R Custom Shop build, Corona, California I am further reducing my collection of guitars and here is my Fender Custom Shop Nocaster Closet Classic. The guitar has the usual Custom Shop light wear and paint checking associated with the Closet Classic, plus a few additional knocks and bumps that it has gained over the last 17 years. The guitar plays like a Nocaster should, nice chunky neck, the pick-ups are vintage Fender and the guitar looks, feels and sounds just right. There is very little fret wear, light home use from me and the previous owner. Electrics all work as they should. No issues at all. The guitar comes with the original ashtray cover, COA, Custom Shop strap, and the original tweed thermometer Custom Shop case with key. There is also an original wiring diagram and âbitsâ if you want to change the three-way selector mode and controls. I think the wiring it is still as it was when it was made and originally left the factory. The build is (serial R) which makes it a very early Custom Shop Nocaster. The COA dates the guitar to 15 May . I contacted Fender Custom Shop and they emailed to me the specification sheet for the particular guitar. This is called the âShop Floor Travellerâ and I will include a print of this with the guitar. Under âcommentsâ on the Shop Floor Travellerâ it says: All Original Detailing, Built From Original Tooling. Built as if bought new in its respective year and played a few times a year and then put carefully away. Has a few small dings, checked finish, oxidized hardware and aged plastic parts. This guitar is number 290 and the first of this âlimited editionâ run from the Fender Custom Shop came with a slip case âlimited editionâ of the Nacho Banos 'The Blackguard' book with the same edition number as the guitar ! The Blackguard Book by Nacho Banos In my opinion the Telecaster is the coolest guitar ever built. And the original Blackguards? The coolest of the cool. But if you want an original from the early 50s, itâs gonna cost you, big time. So whatâs the next best thing? The incredible Blackguard Book by Nacho Banos, which takes a very detailed look at Fender Telecasters built from to . The book itself is hugeâyou better have a strong coffee table! It measures 12? x 12? and comes in a hard case. Nacho is only publishing copies, and they are each given Tele-style serial numbers from to . Inside you will find 50 guitars disassembled and photographed in stunning detail. The book devotes a chapter to each year from to and also provides an abundance of technical details on the guitars. Be warned: this book will increase your GAS. For those unfamiliar with Nacho Banos, he's considered one of the foremost experts on/students of Blackguard Teles in the world and his The Blackguard Book is considered the bible on the subject. Guitar is also advertised on the usual other sites. Always happy to chat guitars, happy for you to try before you buy. Collection preferred but willing to post at buyers cost. Book would have to be posted separately of course. Read More
