This is an ex-library copy of Brian Epsteins Autobiography and how he met and became manager of the Beatles. Published in by Souvenir Press, this first edition is in fairly good condition, with dustjacket which does have a few marks and creases, and some damage to the edges, and of course being ex library has a few rubber stamps on the inside pages.It was originally property of Bourneville Works Library so it must have been read by Cadbury Chocolate makers. It is by no means perfect but it is an interesting read of how a Jewish public schoolboy became manager of the worlds biggest band. Read more

H&L Epstein Side Table or Serving Table

H & L (Harry and Lou) Epstein Serving Table or Side Table. Good condition, marks shown in picture, easily fixed. Very elegant and art deco style. Price in was £ or possibly £ see original invoice in pictures. Buyer collects in Tewin, Hertfordshire. Please note I no longer have the invoice as it went with the dining table. About H&L Epstein furniture was originally founded in East London by Polish immigrants in the s. The firm passed to brothers Harry and Lou Epstein and the pair turned their attention to the production of Art Deco forms from the s until the s. Finished to high standards, most pieces were custom-made in veneers of burr maple, sycamore or walnut. The design of the famous ‘cloud’ seat furniture is credited to Epstein and the company also popularized the uniquely British taste in suite furniture. Following World War II, Epstein had showrooms in London, Manchester and Glasgow. A conservative Art Deco style became the company`s trademark after the war and most pieces were made from bleached walnut. From the s, some pieces were labelled ‘H. & L.
