The keys type smoothly, the carriage advances when it should. It has the original metal spools (which are almost unobtainable to date) that have been fitted with a new black-red ribbon. I have also cleaned the typefont so there is almost no dirt/dust. Further, I lightly used special typewriter oil in the typing mechanism to make it run smoother and prevent corrosion. The carriage return lever, the line spacer, the paper release, margin setters, caps lock, ribbon switch and backspace key all work as they should. The bell rings when approaching the end of the line. This fascinating typewriter will come with authentic black case with original leather handle. It will also include a cleaning cloth and a brush. The typewriter has very useful handles on both sides and that improves its portability. The overall condition is excellent. There is minor discolouration on the body of the typewriter. 's Imperial Vintage Manual Typewriter, New Ribbon, Case, Stylish Portable Working Typewriter, Rare Imperial "The Good Companion" vintage manual portable typewriter. I have cleaned the typing mechanism and it is now in fully working order. The keys type smoothly, the carriage advances when it should. It has the original metal spools (which are almost unobtainable to date) that have been fitted with a new black-red ribbon. I have also cleaned the typefont so there is almost no dirt/dust. Further, I lightly used special typewriter oil in the typing mechanism to make it run smoother and prevent corrosion. The carriage return lever, the line spacer, the paper release, margin setters, caps lock, ribbon switch and backspace key all work as they should. The bell rings when approaching the end of the line.This fascinating typewriter will come with authentic black case with original leather handle. It will also include a cleaning cloth and a brush. The typewriter has very useful handles on both sides and that improves its portability. The overall condition is excellent. There is minor discolouration on the body of the typewriter. I have cleaned the typing mechanism however, a couple of keys can stick at times, in that case you would need to press them a couple of times until they work as intended. The retro typewriter would be ideal for writers and authors, especially in the creative field. It will also be a unique gift. A fully serviced Olympia Werke AG “De Luxe” vintage manual portable typewriter. Probably produced in the mid 60’s or early 70’s, the machine functions perfectly! The keys and levers function as they should, the comfortable keys are very responsive and the typewriter provides a range of settings to make your typing just the way you like it: allowing to set different margins, ribbon colour switch, line spacing and others. It comes fitted with a new ribbon so you can type as soon as you get it and without any hassle. Also comes with the original case which has a comfortable handle. The typewriter is portable and you can carry it around inside the case. However, I believe originally it was intended for office/home use rather than a typewriter “on the go”. Made in Western Germany and sold in London, UK. The overall condition is very good. No faults/defects were detected. Minor markings on the case.
