As long as the cranks are moving, throttle sensors keep the power on. It cuts out one or two seconds after stopping the pedals, or when you hit the brakes. The twist throttle is actually a power-on override and LED battery gauge rolled into one: use it from a standing stop to get going. I would not know alloy from zinc and have no idea what "Krayton grips" are but assume it is as described by manufacturer as nothing has been altered to my knowledge.I would say I dont think it would go 15 mph in some situations but depends on size of rider.It has a basket attachment at front and a box on back to help carry shopping etc and has a gel seat cover which can be removed if you wish as original seat is not that comfy whatever the manufacturer says. It is a practical bike easy to fold to fit into car boot or on the train with safe quick-release clasps but I found it heavy and tall and at only 5' 2" not ideal for me but I am not that strong or energetic. As you can see from photos it has some surface rust which is due to having been stood for several months, I have been charging it periodically but again as its tall have not taken it out so batteries drained themselves so cannot verify if still okay but they take the charge and show "full power" on display for several days at each charge. Charger is included as is a new stand as again I found the present one weak and was wary of dropping the bike but never got around to fitting new one. Bought this bike in January for my wife, but she has hardly used it. It has a 250 watt front wheel motor and three gears in the hub of the rear wheel so low maintenance of the gears is required. It also has a rear hub brake which is activated by peddling backwards plus V brakes front and rear so is very safe to ride. It has a 10 amp hour 36 volt battery and should give up to 30 miles on one charge depending on terrain. It also has a rear wheel lock fixed to the frame for extra security and led lights front and rear. It has done very low mileage as I use an electric mountain bike and is in prime condition. It is very comfortable to ride and gear changing is very easy. It has done very minimal mileage and retails at £699 so £400 is a real bargain, hence no offers please.
