A Large Early Victorian Carved Mahogany Fireside Arm Chair Great Shape A large early Victorian carved mahogany fireside armchair, upholstered in a red velvet material, and the chair having a great shape to it. The chair frame is made from mahogany which has a good colour and grain patination. The chair is formed with the back being shaped with the top rail being carved with a blind fret carving and then with a rounded to each side. The front of the chair is formed with it having carved and bent wooden supports which have fluted carvings and again roundels and circular and lines designs. The front legs of the chair are turned tapered and fluted again. The back legs are shaped backwards. The front of the chair is bow fronted. The chair is upholstered in a red velvet material, which has diamond shaped designs on it. The arm supports are also upholstered. The chair is real comfy even after all these years and it dates to around . Size Height 40” Width ” Depth 39.5” Condition The condition of the chair is very good, can be used as is or could be re-upholstered to whatever material suits, it has been re-upholstered at some point already.
