It has 16 folding pages with interior photos - in Braeckman's unique style - of the Royal Palace in Brussels. In the middle of the book 2 portraits of the King and Queen. Queen Paola is a great admirer of Braeckman's work. After publisher Imschoot went bankrupt, “Chiaroscuro” has become very rare. This book is still in the original cellophane. Dirk in scabbard with solid silver banding

I am selling this ceremonial dirk on my aunt’s behalf. It belonged to her brother who, as a member of a military pipe band, wore it as part of his full Highland dress. I have more photos than those shown in this advert, including one of him in uniform, wearing the dirk. It is circa 70 years old. Total length of the dirk is 50 cm, when measured from pommel to the tip of the scabbard. The handle is believed to be bog oak, carved in a basket weave pattern and decorated with silvered pins. The scabbard is made of black leather with banding made from solid silver. This is not hallmarked, but anyone with knowledge of silver soldering will be able to see this on the rear of the scabbard. Also, my aunt has first-hand knowledge of the scabbard being decorated. The forged blade is the correct profile for a fighting dirk, but has not been honed, as reflects its ceremonial purpose. In order to comply with the law, I can only sell it to someone who can demonstrate that they are over the age of 18. Read More
