Throwgood Maxam Cob Saddle best suited to wider barrel hard to fit type horses.  This is a wide saddle with flat panels and has three girth straps and a fourth point strap for extra security against movement on flat backed cobs or wider horses.  I am only selling as I no longer have the horse I used for this saddle on. Please note that this is not a gullet changing saddle it is a fixed gullet and is stamped as extra wide 17". It is in excellent condition as it has had no real use as this was my spare saddle which I only used a handle full of times so almost new really.  Grab yourself a bargain:) Happy for collection to be from London or Hertfordshire I am happy to arrange a meeting place or I can post or you could arrange a courier if you would like to make a saving on the postage. A GP saddle made by Thorowgood, I bought this recently and have used it for hacking a couple of times, but it doesn't fit my horse very well. It's in perfect condition apart from the usual few marks and bits of dust from use, no scratches or damage. It has the 4 girth strap system and removable knee rolls. It is NOT the adjustable gullet version, does have fish inserts (unused). 17 inch seat, was initially sold as a wide fitting. Bought for £165. Thanks for looking!

Welcome to my listing. Please take an extra note of the terms at the bottom as there very strict and if you do not wish to stick to them PLEASE do NOT buy.   Right in this listing:   Thorowgood Maxam Cob version GP saddle   17 inch and id say it was a medium-wide to wide fit but please view photos of measurements and decide for yourself.   D-ring at the back to attach a crupper too if needed.   Girth straps in great condition and removable/movable front knee blocks.   Cosmetically it has been used so shows normal signs of use, the only blemish’s to point out is:   1. There has been a repair on the seat where the fabric has ripped slightly but it has been stitched up well and wouldn’t cause any issues with use 2. On the cantle the fabric on each corner again has spilt slightly but I have glued this down so again shouldn’t cause any issues 3. On front left knee roll there’s been a rip in fabric again cosmetic 4. On the front pommel there is a slightly spilt in fabric   All of these are not that noticeable and certainly wouldn’t cause ANY issues at all with its use, a seat saver would cover the ones on the seat and cantle and the riders leg would cover the knee one if your bothered.   Still a great little saddle and other then those blemish’s it only shows normal signs of use and plenty of wear left.     All of this is ONLY cosmetic and won’t effect use at all, its still a fab saddle for backing purposes/home/starter saddle.     PLEASE VIEW photos ALL cosmetics are shown.
