The sliding cheek passes through the mouthpiece and allows the same principle of action as a gag. With strong contact to the curb rein attached to the lower ring, the mouthpiece is eased up the cheek of the bit as far as the slot will allow - the longer the space between the top and bottom of the slot (neck) of the cheek, the greater the leverage. In this case the travel is very limited and merely allows room for mouthing, The cheeks too are movable in this type, allowing the eyes at the top of the cheeks to turn upwards. Dark Havana Weymouth bridle, cob sized, cheeks are half inch wide, suits a smaller, finer head. Plain flat brow band and noseband with normal fastening on cavesson. Cheeks and reins stitched to bits, which gives a neat appearance, has stainless steel loose ring single jointed bradoon which is 5.5 inch, and sliding cheek Weymouth with low port 5 inches, complete with curb chain and lip strap. Used for working hunter classes, a lovely smart bridle in good condition, wear and tear in keeping with a used bridle, but still in nice condition. Has two small patches on the reins near the buckle, not really noticeable, buckle on one rein has lost keeper and had end of leather break off at some point in the past but again only a minor detail. For sale as no longer used, served us well.
