This collection of very old side saddle attachements have been in store for over 70 years. As you can seen from the pictures, all have been well used and there is some corrosion on the metal work.  This should be expected of items of this age though. They are all authentic and are rare collectors items. 1. A ladies side saddle stirrup iron stamped with 'Owen and Co' of London.   2. The leather attachment for the stirrup. 3. A 3 fold leather girth with the original oil cloth inside. 4. A padded balance girth.      New, Unused leather saddle made by Mughal Saddlers and plated. Good quality leather has been used, as you would notice in the pictures and also may be confirmed on viewing. Newly made OFF SIDE side saddle for a draft horse. The riders legs go to the right hand side. Size XW Tree, 18" diagonal points. 18"length of Seat, 14"width of seat. This saddle is for a very wide horse. I designed the tree to be flatter and broader to accommodate a true draft horse with no/minimal withers.  This one has a regular stirrup bar, with the counter part stirrup leather. A collaspable iron MUST be used. Imported leather with English sent metal parts, fine suede seat and pommels, wool flocking. This is a non jumping saddle. It is not reinforced enough to absorb the pressure a jumping side saddle demands. This saddle comes with an adjustable stirrup leather and balance strap. You will need to provide a safety iron and girth. I do sell draft girths, 60" upwards if needed, but you will have better idea what size to order once the saddle is on your horse. This was our first saddle, called the 'Malone'. I took them to Beta years ago, they have also appeared at the Side Saddle Nationals for the past 3 years. They are great starter saddles, but I am focusing on our European saddle now, which can be made for a draft horse, but these last few will not be continued. this saddle is roughly 100yrs old.  it was given to me and i had it REFURBISHED  by a local master saddler in the hope it would fit my pony but unfortunately it's not wide enough.  it has been beautifully done and sadly needs to be sold to fund purchase of one that will fit. it doesn't have a makers stamp on it but i can tell you the tree is sound. thanks for looking:-)

This is a beautiful antique side saddle made by Champion and Wilton.  It is in desperate need of renovation as I have had it stored away in the loft for years.  It deserves some TLC! The seat measures 17.5 ins from the cut back head to the end of cantle.  It has a beautiful quilted seat which is in excellent condition.  The remainder of the leather work around the suede seat does have worm holes but all this leather work would require replacing.  The flap and pommels are in good order and the straps too with the exceptio9n of the near side strap which is alittle dry. This really is a lovely saddle but I will neverr get time to do anything about it so I have decided to sell it as it is taking up space! Please feel free to message me for further photographs or measurements. I dont mind viewing and the saddle could be collected by the purchaser if preferred.

Details about   DOUBLE BRIDLE VERY RARE EXTRA FULL SIDE

What can I say, this bridle is an example of English craftsmanship at its best. I have owned it for ages and the horse I have bred is now six and not going to grow into it, hence the sale. The leatherwork is dark havannah stitched in cream and over 2mm in thickness. In the light the leatherwork has a mahogany tinge to it and the bits are stitched on, all round. It is an extra full size with wide flat noseband and browband with a laced snaffle rein and plain curb rein. I have never seen another weymouth bit like this, measuring 5.5 inches, it comprises of a sliding, revolving straight, mouthpiece which operates independently on each side. The bridoon is a usual loose ring snaffle, half a inch wider. The bits are made of solid nickle, and i used to ride side saddle when using it, so that all my tack was in keeping with my 's saddle. The bridle has no damage or repairs and is in show condition, being sold complete with leather lip strap and original curb chain. I will only post first class to a uk address and the price includes this together with full insurance.
