This bit is made out of Stainless Steel with a nylon covering on the mouthpiece. The Eggbutt The eggbutt is a fixed cheek bit, this may be useful for horses that are a bit unsure of the bit as it doesn’t move around to much in the mouth, it should encourage the horse to stretch into the contact. An eggbutt bit would be less suitable if your horse is prone to leaning or taking hold of the bit The Mullen Mouthpiece The Mullen mouth is a very mild bit, it is an unvarying mouthpiece which means the pressure on the mouth doesn’t change much, as it is a fixed mouthpiece. The bit puts pressure on the tongue and lips (corner of the mouth), it does use slight pressure on the bars depending on the size of your horses tongue. This bit is very useful for those horses who have a very soft mouth and don’t like complicated mouthpieces, it may also be useful for horses who back off the contact and need that extra bit of confidence in the bit. The mullen mouth acts on the corners and the cheeks act upon the curb groove and the poll. Should be used with two reins but if a single rein is required then a pelham rounding (a strap of leather that couples the snaffle D and curb ring) is often used, but it nulifies the action of both snaffle and curb and produces something between the two.           ~~~~~~~     I will always try and post items out on the same day as purchase if cleared payment is made by 3pm.   ~~~~~~~~~ NOTE: I always obtain proof of posting when sending items out. This is a 5" inch stainless steel, mullen mouth, Pelham with a curb chain. It is in great condition with almost no signs of use (just a few tiny scratches on one side if you look really closely which in no way affect its use).   I am having a bit of a clear out of my bit box so please see other bits also for sale. I will combine postage wherever possible. I always try to keep postage charges as low as possible but if you live in the parts of the UK that incur additional postal charges I am afraid I will need to pass these on to you.
