I shall be listing many items including Turnout and Stable Rugs, Miniature Pony Rugs, Foal Rugs, Fly Rugs, Fly Masks, Jodhpur Boots, Chaps, Jodhpurs, Breeches, Show Shirts, Hats, Tweed Jackets, Navy Jackets, assorted Bridlework, Bits, Numnahs, Supplements etc etc..........................   This Listing is for     Stainless Steel Mullen Mouth Pelham   Size: 4 1/2"   (Cheek Length 5")       The most usual of all the Pelhams, a kind, but strong bit, with a plain mullen mouth.   The mullen mouth pelham is excellent for mouthing with precisely balanced cheeks for exceptional control. The mullen mouth acts on the corners and the cheeks act upon the curb groove and the poll. Should be used with two reins but if a single rein is required then a pelham rounding (a strap of leather that couples the snaffle D and curb ring) is often used, but it nulifies the action of both snaffle and curb and produces something between the two.           ~~~~~~~     I will always try and post items out on the same day as purchase if cleared payment is made by 3pm.   ~~~~~~~~~ NOTE: I always obtain proof of posting when sending items out. The Pelham should theoretically be used with 2 reins, the first rein is attached to the snaffle rein, and the second rein attached to the ring at the bottom of the shank. The curb chain should be fitted so that the curb chain tightens when the second rein is brought into play, but there must be a bit of give so not to tighten up straight away. Rubber Mouthpieces are a warmer feel to the horse's mouth, and slightly thicker. The Mullen is slightly curved. Size: mm. Stainless steel 145 mm. cheek. Used but in good condition.
