I bought this cart some years ago from Galway. It came from a man who was an extra in the movie and was one of several carts in use at ashford castle where the quiet man movie was filmed. I had the wheels refurbed by a professional carriage builder about 7 years ago. It is perfectly balanced and I put a 14.2 cob to it.

The rug comes in two weights - a light which features a 50g fill and an "extra" which is classed as a heavyweight and has 300g of polyfill. The light is recommended for use from 5 degrees to 12 degrees and the "extra" is recommended for use from 8 degrees down to minus 12 degrees.
