The hard rubber mullen mouthpiece is slightly curved to allow space for the tongue and eliminate the nutcracker action. The combination of control and comfort results in this bit being one of the most popular Pelham Bits. This high quality bit is also ideal for horses with sensitive mouths, as the rubber mouthpiece is softer than those made from stainless steel. The Mullen mouth is a very mild mouthpiece, it is an unvarying mouthpiece which means the pressure on the mouth doesn’t change very much, as it is a fixed mouthpiece. The bit puts pressure on the tongue and lips (corner of the mouth), it does use slight pressure on the bars depending on the size of your horses tongue. This bit is very useful for those horses who have a very soft mouth and don’t like complicated mouthpieces, it may also be useful for horses who back off the contact and need that extra bit of confidence in the bit.

Well used youngster bit but plenty of life left in it cm straight bar made from tough rigid rubber/plastic which is easy for babies to accept. Small neat brass rings look good on youngster heads My boy wore this for inhand shows and for going on walks out and about, never had an issue with it gave him a great start to the world of bitting, he now reaches out to take his grown up bit!
