Governess Cart for Sale also known as a Tub Cart, this is a very attractive pony-size vehicle, light and easy running.  Date on axle .  Hub caps engraved Flegg, London. The trap has been thoroughly overhauled and is believed to be in good sound order.  The 'tub' has been re-varnised.  The wheels re-painted and lined out and have new rubber tyres.  The shafts have been re-varnished rather than re-painted as they retain their original lining.  They have been re-leathered.  Please email for any further details/measurements. Pretty Governess Cart.   . Ideal for 13:2. Removable chord cushions and raised drivers seat. No longer in show condition but ideal for everyday use. Axles and hubs recently serviced with new leather washers and a top up with oil. Wear and tear includes worn and chipped varnish, worn and chipped paint, old repairs to woodwork. Being varnished it is clear to see that all the woodwork is good and there is no rot or filler. This cart has been in regular use but sadly my driving pony has retired.   It is a lovely and quite fine example.

Offered for sale is my Grandfathers Governess Cart/Carriage. We do not know the year of it or even it's era, but would at a guess put it around . In good order, the cart was restored prior to him buying it years ago for my auntie to use. This never happened and was kept in dry storage until around a month ago when we got it out from under the sheet and gave it a wipe over for some pictures. Looks to be in good order but will need some tidying up to some trim pieces. The right hand shaft has previously been repaired at some point, I have no idea why. Details about   VERY OLD JEWELLERY BOX (FOR RESTORATION)

The jewellery case measures 9in x 6in x 4in, and weighs 540 gm. It has been in the family's possession for around 100 years. In my view it is too good to throw away as someone might find it suitable for restoration. As the photos will show the external black surfacing and gilding around the base rim is badly scuffed/scraped and needs replacing or covering. However, it is structurally sound and the hinges are good. There is no key but the lock mechanism seems functional. The inside material in the lid is in very good undamaged condition and the red material at the base is fair and could do with replacing.

Up for auction is our horse/pony trap which has been dry stored for some time. The trap is generally in good condition but would benefit from being freshened up. All metal and wood is solid and some quirky little lamps are installed to the front! The seat is whole and clean and has spring suspension. As shown in the photographs the top layer of lacquer is flaking a little. We do also have harnesses etc somewhere and will attempt to locate them if there is enough interest generated - this would be sold separately. Item is in North East Fife.
