This is a lovely Sankey saddle that sadly I have to sell as my boy has got much bigger. Black leather. It is in good condition and extremely comfortable. It has been well looked after and cleaned regularly. 17 " and Wide width. Sankey Saddlery is a small saddle making company based in Kilsyth Glasgow Scotland. Andrew Sankey (Managing Director) is a Master Saddler and a member of the The Society of Master Saddlers. Based in Scotland, Andrew Sankey is one of the few remaining master craftsmen.  Unlike many modern saddle manufacturers, he still works from a cobbler-type shop filled with leather, saddle trees and all the other material needed to build a saddle from start to the finish.  While many saddle makers have gone to using laser cutters and other modern technology, Andrew Sankey still uses cutting boards and traditional saddle making hand tools. From his small workshop, Andrew is now exporting all over the world and is in high demand by many professional riders and trainers. All saddles are handcrafted by Andrew Sankey and his young apprentice Mark Rooney from start to finish which has been a major part to the success of his saddles. No stone unturned, his watchful eye insures that quality and attention to detail is of the highest standard.  Andrew States "  We make saddles the old way using traditional methods and craftsmen ship, it takes a lot longer to make saddles the way we do but the end result is far greater than the way most saddle companies do it these days. Andrew is a strong believer that horses should be fitted to the tree and not how a saddle looks on the horse. "  I see saddles on horses and know its the wrong tree for the horse, the shape of the head and rails of the tree do not follow the horses profile. A wooden spring tree will flex but it is still a solid construction made from wood and rein fused with steel. The panel may follow the horses profile but a solid construction of the tree will still cause pressure points across the horses back and seriously restrict the horses movement and comfort. "

Wintec GP saddle 17" black with CAIR, XW (white) gullet fitted Measures around " from stud to cantle, so I would say its a small 17" Point straps have been added to either side of  this GP, to prevent movement on the native /cob  type ponies, but its suitable for all types. The point straps can be removed if not required. The saddle has an adjustable gullet and is in good condition.  one of the point girth straps has a bit of the synthetic material missing from the underside, this in no way affects use, i am just mentioning for fullness of description. please email for any further information

BLACK INCH SANKEY WORKING HUNTER / GP SADDLE This is a lovely used  saddle, it would be ideal for working hunter classes as it is not to forward cut, it has a good knee roll and a lovely deep secure seat.
