This is called a stable rug but it has a tail flap.  It has jute outer and wool lining.   It has double front straps and two sursingles. I used it when my horse was lame and confined in a field shelter.  It is much warmer than a normal stable rug and seemed to shrug off quite a bit of rain as well. The withers are well padded but I did add a vest as it was worn 24/7 for 2 weeks. The lining is clean but the outer is stained from the clay soil.  It has been washed but the stain was not removed as I was worried about washing it too much as it is a very thick and I was worried about drying the lining properly. World Beater, standard neck, mauve tartan turnout rug 5'3" Actually, the rug measures 5'4", so took it down rather than up GREAT little rug, really, really warm and waterproof. Professionally patched and waterproofed over the patches - a bit grubby now, sorry Fleece wither protection with original chrome ring in centre Front buckles (a little bit crooked but still strong, and they do up and undo easily) with hook and loop fastening Cross over surcingles Leg straps - one of these has lost its adjusting 'buckle' and has knots in it to make it the right length, could be replaced. Good size tail flap. Material on tail flap has some 'ladders' in it. Only 1 or2 have come through the lining. The outer layer of the rug at the back on one side has been rubbed on the fence - it a narrow 'ladder' on the external layer of the rug, it has not gone through to the lining and is in the wrong place to cause and concernable 'leaking' This has been a really useful, warm and waterproof turnout rug.
