This is called a stable rug but it has a tail flap.  It has jute outer and wool lining.   It has double front straps and two sursingles. I used it when my horse was lame and confined in a field shelter.  It is much warmer than a normal stable rug and seemed to shrug off quite a bit of rain as well. The withers are well padded but I did add a vest as it was worn 24/7 for 2 weeks. The lining is clean but the outer is stained from the clay soil.  It has been washed but the stain was not removed as I was worried about washing it too much as it is a very thick and I was worried about drying the lining properly. The outer layer of the rug at the back on one side has been rubbed on the fence - it a narrow 'ladder' on the external layer of the rug, it has not gone through to the lining and is in the wrong place to cause and concernable 'leaking' This has been a really useful, warm and waterproof turnout rug.
