For Sale is a rare genuine SF issue DPM windproof smock MK2 (modified) Size is (height-chest) = Large to XL Issued but not Used, near new condition (see photos) only point to note; the label has been defaced Only for issue to select units, due to high production cost. It was the final piece of DPM kit issued before the introduction of MTP, and many of the design features were rolled over to the current PCS Issue Smock, (such as fleece hand warmer pockets, ventilation zips, mesh lining, etc) This is an excellent windproof combat smock, This smock would be ideal for fishing, camping, bird watching, hiking, paint balling, hiking or just walking the dog in. Buff/sales pitch copied from manufacturer: The Smock has a considerable number of special features. Designed as a windproof Garment to protect the wearer from the effects of wet and cold by providing a quick drying, warmth retaining, and fast water shedding Smock. The New Issue Special Forces Smock, has a number of features taken from top quality mountaineering jackets, such as "pit zips", at the side of the Smock under the arms to allow quick ventilation. The lower bellows pockets also have zip access to inside pockets, which are fleece lined as "hand warmers". The shoulders, front, and rear poachers pocket areas have been lined with an IRR, olive drab, polyester mesh, the same material found on current issue combat vests. This is to make the new Smock, faster drying and more breathable. The mesh will also trap warm air more effectively. The mesh is also sewn to the base of each of the four front pockets.This is so the mesh does not catch, or offer any resistance to the passage of water, such as on a river crossing for example. It was the final piece of DPM kit issued before the introduction of MTP, and many of the design features were rolled over to the current PCS Issue Smock, (such as fleece hand warmer pockets, ventilation zips, mesh lining, etc) This is an excellent windproof combat smock, This smock would be ideal for fishing, camping, bird watching, hiking, paint balling, hiking or just walking the dog in. Designed as a windproof Garment to protect the wearer from the effects of wet and cold by providing a quick drying, warmth retaining, and fast water shedding Smock. The New Issue Special Forces Smock, has a number of features taken from top quality mountaineering jackets, such as "pit zips", at the side of the Smock under the arms to allow quick ventilation. The lower bellows pockets also have zip access to inside pockets, which are fleece lined as "hand warmers". The shoulders, front, and rear poachers pocket areas have been lined with an IRR, olive drab, polyester mesh, the same material found on current issue combat vests. This is to make the new Smock, faster drying and more breathable. The mesh will also trap warm air more effectively. The mesh is also sewn to the base of each of the four front pockets.This is so the mesh does not catch, or offer any resistance to the passage of water, such as on a river crossing for example. To improve Cold Weather performance, the Smock has an Arctic Smock wired hood permanently sewn to it, with a button hood retainer loop for when the hood is not in use. The basis of the design is the Issue Field Smock, and retains many of its feature, such as four front bellows pockets, with the usual zip next to each chest pocket to allow access to the large "inside" chest pockets.The two way, heavy duty front zip, with Velcro fastening storm flap has also been retained along with a front rank tab, taped buttons, reinforced forearm sections,and Velcro tab cuffs. The IRR DPM Camo material is the new polyester - cotton cloth, chosen for durability, and again to aid fast drying. They all come complete with official issue labels, and are the genuine item, made in Europe.
