Funhouse Comedy Club
Funhouse Comedy Club brings another great night of laughter, to the Grainstore Brewery, Oakham. Headlining the night is producer, director, writer and comic Bennett Arron. The only Jewish/Welsh comedian on the circuit he has supported Ricky Gervais on tour. Also a trained actor he takes command of the stage and his humour veers between obsessed anxiety and natural occurrences, with his contagious laugh he lights up any room. Supporting will be the intelligent and likeable Nick Doody who whilst still a student, supported Bill Hicks on his final tour of the UK, on Bill's request. Very popular on the comedy circuit he also writes for many popular TV comedy shows including 8 Out Of Ten Cats, Have I Got News For You, Rude Tube and for a variety of guests on Mock the Week. His perceptive wit and sharp retorts are delivered with mesmerizing warmth. Also appearing is the unique duo Brian Damage and Krysstal. Very popular on the comedy circuit with their unconventional vaudeville-style act, their sometimes bawdy humour is punctuated by silly songs, dancing and plenty of jokes. Before they teamed up Brian was a musician and Krysstal an actress in Australia. Brian is infamously grumpy and deadpan, while his assistant Krysstal is glamorous but ditzy. The combination is very funny and definitely something that you won't forget. Compere for the night is the quirky James Dowdeswell who has appeared on such TV shows as 'Russell Howard's Good News', 'Celebrity Deal Or No Deal' and who also played The Count in Ricky Gervais' 'Extras'.
