Luthier-Built '69 Tele Thinline Replica

For sale is a mint-condition luthier-assembled guitar based on a Fender '69 Thinline Telecaster. I bought this off a young budding luthier in Cornwall and have kept it in perfect nick. No gigs, no transporting, no smoking. The body is chambered ash finished in a two-tone sunburst, and the neck is solid maple with a light satin finish. The frets are medium to medium-jumbo and I've set the bridge to suit my chunky strings () and heavy fingers. Easily sorted otherwise. I've only used this for recording, and hate to see it go but bills demand otherwise. It plays like a dream. If you're interested in having a look, I live near Crystal Palace Park. S Yairi master luthier acoustic guitar

If you have'nt heard of Sadao Yairi he is the best luthier in Japan in the 70s and 80 s. Went out of business in s and died in the s. He insisted that guitars should be hand made not made by a machine. Look up Yairiluvr for his history. A rare single owner vintage custom hand made Japanese guitar. A collectors guitar or players guitar. S Yairi used to make Lowden guitars Owned by an electric guitarist who received it new as a present in . The owner always favoured electric guitars guitar so the condition is largely as it was in . I thought the condition was almost perfect as with a cursory check this is how it appears but looking very closely there are some small signs that it has been used. A small dent in the edge of the top finish and slight scratches in the finish on the back but overall for its age it is in suprisingly good condition. Normally I would attempt to improve the guitar finish but I am reluctant to interfere with this guitar as its thin finish (to give the best tone) is all part of its design and should be left as original as possible. S Yairi is said by some to be the top s luthier described by some as the Japanese Stradivarius. He went out of production around and produced relatively few guitars as they were hand made and each guitar was built by a single luthier. His nephew K Yairi makes excellent guitars linked in with Alvarez guitars but for every 10 of them for sale there is only one S Yairi. Why so cheap? I am a player/collector so I am not making a profit (taxman please note) as. I am not a dealer so for usual retail value add £500 and for dealer £300. Hank Marvin (The Shadows) Stratocaster – This is a guitar crafted for me by a respected Luthier to my specifications. The body is a two-piece alder crafted to Fender’s own specification and finished in Fiesta Red by Northwest Guitars. These are manufactured as near to Fender’s specifications as possible and are compatible with original Fender parts. Northwest Guitars also spend a lot of time on their colours; especially the early 50's ones like this one in Fiesta Red to ensure aesthetic authenticity. The neck is in beautiful birds eye maple as was Hank’s original guitar, and was crafted by WD Music who are licensed by Fender. It does have a Fender decal on the headstock but it is Luthier crafted. The white scratch plate and electrics including Sky pickups are manufactured by Dongho Electronics of Korea who also make Kent Armstrong pickups. (Distributed by WD Music). The guitar has been crafted with gold coloured hardware to emulate the complete Hank Marvin look. The tuners are Gotoh and the strings are Fender nickel-plated steel 9'S (250L Light). String packet in the case as case candy. There is a very small blemish on the fretboard between the third and fourth frets on the fifth string but is hard to see. The guitar is housed in a moulded aluminum hard case manufactured by Spider,which affords superb protection to it. The ‘Hank Marvin’ look is completed with a genuine ‘Fender FS1 Deluxe Wide Padded Leather Strap’, these are no longer made and are now hard to find! I have included a picture of Hank using his guitar and strap (not this one) on the Final Tour in . This is a great chance to emulate your hero at a fraction of the price of a genuine Fender ‘Hank Marvin’ Stratocaster.
