Large modern long case clock known to all as a grandfather clock.,glass front door glass side infills, Whitington / Westminster movement on 8 rods, very attractive gilded pendulum with eight vertical rods, with engraved lyre/round engraved pendulum bob. Case/ top arch dial/ trunk and base plus case pillars both on hood of case and trunk of case, light brown colours would suit modern house. 3 Long brass weights which power the mechanical movement modern brass arch top style dial with black decorative hands.3 brass covered weights and beautiful pendulum visible through glass of clock door. The Clock has a self correcting pendulum which makes it very easy to set up, unlike the old long case clocks. A very expensive clock when new, it is now about 15yrs old height 6ft 5 inches base width inches.

An absolute bargain, REDUCED by £200. This clock is a genuine antique 30 hour longcase clock by a famous maker. The movement is of superior construction with thick brass plates, 4 large brass pillars, and chain winding mechanism. 30 hour clocks only take 10 seconds to wind and are ideally placed on a wall close to an activity performed everyday such as drawing curtains. It has just had an oil service and bees wax polish. George Honeybone came from a family of over 100 years and 4 generations of clockmakers in Fulford, Gloucestershire. He was born in the son of Richard Honeybone. George worked in Fairford from to , and this clock dates from c. The Fairford History Society states: "Honeybone clocks are now much sought after today, particularly in the Cotswolds as they represent fine examples of local craftsmanship and a link to Fairford's past". To see a full account of the history, including pictures and a family tree, search: "Fairford History Society: The Honeybones of Fairford". This clock is particularly attractive with a painted dial showing rural scenes, glazed hood door with old glass, swan neck pedament above with brass finial. Lead weight and period brass pendulum.
