For sale this Classic Ladies Bike - Dawes Diploma. This bike is in excellent condition apart form the tyres. As this was sitting in the storage for too long, rubber started cracking. On the other hand I have pumped them up and it rides fine but it wouldn't be safe for a long trip or for too much weight. I suggest new tyres to be bought. This has a very smooth 3 gears system. Tyres pumped up good breaks everything oiled and working ok and it's ready to ride away. The only bits with wear and tear are the saddle has a few small tears and the bit of plastic on the left hand gear lever that changes up is missing and only has the bare metal stem with a bit of tape wrapped around it. Working order and ready to ride, though "cosmetically challenged" in some areas - a little rust in places, various paint chips and scratches but nothing serious. Fitted with 700C aluminium wheels wearing 35 x 622 tyres. 21 speed and fitted with combined brake/gear shift levers. 23.5 inch frame made from Renolds 531 tubing. Aluminium handlebars and brake calipers. All gears selectable with no chain slippage, though the front mech change is not the slickest or quickest I have encountered - the lever is also mis-matched from the one for the rear changer, as the sharper eyed of you will have noticed. This lovely sit up and beg classic bike is my husband's and we bo have similar bikes but now he has decided to take up cycling more seriously and has bought a mountain type cycle so this one is not needed. He used it a handful of times as we lived in hilly north Wales when we bought them and I realise it was silly s they are town bikes really although they are hybrids. His cycle is 22 inch frame and 28 inch wheels. We have just had brand new tyres put on and it has had a full service as it had been in storage before we moved for two years. We are asking the price as it cost nearly four hundred pounds and we've just spent another £80 for the tyres and service. Read More
