José Plácido Domingo Embil (Madrid, Spain, January ), better known as Plácido Domingo, is a Spanish singer, orchestra director, producer and composer, current general director of the National Opera of Washington and of the Opera of Los Angeles (California). He was part of the trio Los tres tenores, along with his compatriot José Carreras and the Italian Luciano Pavarotti. He is known for the versatility of his voice, which has allowed him to sing as a baritone and tenor, and be the singer who has played a greater variety of roles in the history of the opera.Among other distinctions, it has the Order of the British Empire and the Great Cross of Alfonso X the Wise.He has recorded numerous albums, among them: Domingo sings the songs of Agustín Lara, 100 years of Mariachi, Love me a lot, The Sunday Songbook, Always in my heart; the latter contains an exceptional music where the tenor performs songs by Ernesto Lecuona accompanied by the Royal Phillarmonic Orchestra and De mi alma latina (1 and 2). In he released the album Italia ti amo. And in he played the song "Alborada" from the telenovela of the same name starring Lucero and Fernando Colunga. Plácido appeared on the cover of the album with the music of the telenovela and several hits of his were included in the soundtrack. Read more
