Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller - 6 DAX armchairs
Mid 50-ties, Sea foam Green (SFG), Zeeland Michigan, shipped from Venice California; The first transition armshell between Zenith and Herman Miller production. This chair is a deep and beautiful seafoam green. This is not an ordinary seafoam armshell either... it is a venice shell. This chair has remnants of the red taped label which is almost always missing. The first transition armshell between Zenith and Herman Miller production and this is evidenced by the large puck shockmounts with the metal washers. Shells are as thick and substantional as the Zenith shells but no rope edge as they phased this step out after less than a year of production. The condition on this chair is outstanding! The original second generation eiffel base (bootglide feet) has some wear and surface rust and paint loss from over 60 years of use. Looks incredible with terrific contrast to the crisp shell.Boot glide feet all intact. Eiffel has no weld breaks, bends, or rewelds. The colour on thes chairs are very deep in tone and bright. The fibers are visible and look tremendous.•Early Venice shell •Seafoam green (SFG)•Natural exposed fibreglass finish•Rare medium height (seat height: inches) DAX•4 black solid steel X base, 2 eiffel base•Boot glide feet•±•Herman Miller productionhttp://www.eamesoffice.com/authenticity/herman-miller/ Read More
