Here’s one you don’t see every day - an original, Fender 32ohm, alnico speaker. Yep, 32ohm! If you have a Mark 1 Fender Rhodes piano this would be an invaluable original backup speaker or replace a knackered existing one. Rim code FE = Eminence, 46th week (Nov) (The Mark 2 Fender Rhodes Suitcase Piano was introduced in and used standard 8ohm speakers.) Given its odd impedance, I haven’t been able to hear it in action. It does, however, have a healthy (26.3 ohm) impedance and the cone, although slightly ‘bubbled’ as shown, is in clean condition. Indeed, it has an unusual and attractive caramel coloured, paper cone that I’ve only ever seen on one other vintage Fender speaker. This is presumed to be original. Used enough to be nicely broken in, but not gigged or abused. Taken from a Blackstar htv-112. It's not up there with the celestion greenbacks or the vintage 30s, but neither is the price. Marshall T652 Reissue Alnico Speakers Celestion Made Blue Gold

Very rare reissue speakers made by Celestion for only a few hundred Marshall amps such as the 40th Anniversary Offset JTM45 and based on the very first Marshall Alnico speakers Clapton et al used (these are THE Bluesbreaker speakers). I've tested them and they are tremendous and unmistakably alnicos as opposed to the much more plentiful ceramic drivers. Built by Celestion to similar specs to the legendary Blue, Marshall maintains these are 25w and 16ohm speakers, though internet conjecture suggests sticking to the Blue's 15w. These are the speakers that Nels Cline raves about and would make an ideal for a Bluesbreaker or JTM45 (both of those amps are generally 30w and even the Blue is overspec'd - many makers such as Lazy J fit them in 20w amps!!).
