Come and stay in our touring caravan within sight of our friendly alpaca herd at Moonacre Farm. The caravan is in a lovely setting with open views. Moonacre Farm is very tranquil and the home of Moonacre Alpacas; we have a lake with resident ducks and a visiting heron. You will see buzzards and woodpeckers, swifts and swallows, hear the skylarks and owls of course. At twilight you can watch the young alpacas as they run and play, racing about all together and then slowing to a wonderful slow skipping. Sit by the fire basket at night and watch the stars in the clear night sky - on moonlit nights you can watch the alpacas as they continue to graze. There is only one caravan set within it's own enclosure. In the caravan there is a kitchen area with an electric fridge and a bathroom with a shower and cassette toilet which needs to be emptied regularly. Up at the barn we have a loo and washbasin and a shower. The sofa in the living area pulls out and forms a large double bed. In the seating area opposite the kitchen this folds out for a single bed. Outside we have a table and chairs for you to enjoy the sunshine and the open views. There is an awning attached which allows for the storage of all your boots and wellies, walking gear and coats. The price of £ is for a stay of 7 nights, stays can be longer subject to availability. We are in a fantastic location just 5 minutes walk from the renowned Stafford Moor Fishery (carp and coarse fishing) and within easy reach of Dartmoor, the North Devon coast and the Tarka Trail with a bicycle hire centre in Torrington to let you explore the Devon countryside. We are 3 miles from the villages of Dolton and Winkleigh; both of which have two pubs and a variety of shops. For a cooked breakfast there is a cafe a mile away. Duvets & pillows are provided; bed linen & towels can be provided at an extra cost. Moonacre Farm is a sustainable site with a solar system powering our electricity. Whilst an electric hook up is provided the system will not allow for high voltage appliances like electric kettles or hair straighteners. A low voltage hairdryer will be provided and a gas kettle.
