Hi, for sale is a brooks professional leather saddle. From researching these saddles i have discovered that they were first produced in and were the top saddle produced by brooks using the best leather. This was a race style low profile saddle. It is one of the earlier designs as later designs had more leather over the nose. It is used and over 40 years old so it has marks and some scratches. I have recently added proofhide to it. Included in the sale is a brooks maintenance kit. This includes an unused brooks saddle spanner and an unused brooks cloth. Also is a tin of brooks proofide. Honey colour A few little scuffs The large copper rivets at the nose and tail are also hammered by hand, commensurate with their usual high level of attention to detail. As is the case with all of Brooks hand manufactured saddles, the Swift proudly sports a metal nameplate at the rear, and in addition two embossed graphic details on the sides featuring the saddle name and incorporating an icon of a Swift in flight. This saddle features beautifully hand hammered copper rivets and delicately hand chamfered lower sides, where a thin strip of the leather top surface is cut back, thus exposing the lighter coloured suede beneath which makes for an attractive visual accent and greater comfort when pedalling.
