A JOSEF LORENZL ART DECO COLD-PAINTED BRONZE FIGURE, C. , COLOURED ENAMELS BY CREJO, OYNX BASE

A similar object, albeit 9 cm taller, was sold by Christie's Auctioneers in London in for £. I originally intended to put this family piece on for £ and it was only when doing an internet search late one evening to see if this was perhaps too much that I came across the similar piece on Christie's site. The piece I have for sale is similarly signed by Crejo on the hem which hopefully shows up, somewhat, in the photo. Christie's will not auction off this piece because it is too small in scale and price for their operations which was understandable if a little disappointing. I'm particularly happy to sell to a dealer. Pamono would not accept the piece because they only buy from dealers. Nonetheless it's worth looking at their site for the background information on this Art Deco sculptor. I have put £ as a starting price

Russian icon from the 18th century, tempera on wood. Icon of Christ Pantocrator. Nice representation of Christ Pantocrator, master and judge (“panto” means able of doing everything and “kratos”, strong and powerful), standing with great dignity, penetrating with his gaze the heart of whoever stands in front of him and revealing the truth written in the book that only he can open. It may seem like a terrible image, but his kind and friendly gesture of the hand invites us to get closer and listen. Painted with an open book with a quote from the Gospel. Christ is depicted wearing a red chiton (tunic-shaped robe) and a light blue himation (mantle).
