A lovely heavy bronze statue which I've had for many years but I'm afraid I've no idea who she is (if anyone knows please let me know!). I keep her on the floor as she's quite large and heavy (27 inches high) but I've got a couple of not very clever Newfoundland dogs and it's just at eye height for them and I'm also afraid my young grandchildren may run into her too so I'm afraid she has to go.   GENUINE ANCIENT ETRUSCAN BRONZE STATUE of a

A genuine original Etruscan bronze statue of what I believe is a Samnite warrior circa 5th Century B.C. It measures  cm. (7 1/4") The weight is 203 gm. The warrior is missing it's right leg and there is considerable degradation to the surface of the left leg which also shows a deep bend at the ankle. There is a stud on the bottom of the left foot which would have been the mount to a base. The statue shows the warrior figure in the armor of a Samnite who were the neighbors of the Etruscans. The figure is depicted with the trefoil chest armor,armored belt and short tunic skirt for which the Samnites were noted. The figure also depicts a gorget below the neck and a typical Etruscan/Campanian helmet with the check flaps in the raised position. The top of the helmet possibly may have been crested but that element is missing. The weapons (a spear and shield) are also missing. My belief that this is Etruscan in origin stems from the "Etruscan Smile" on the face of the figure. That is a feature present on many Etruscan works of art. Also the extended leg length marks this as Etruscan design. This was obtained from the estate of an Italian immigrant who has passed on and I do not have provenance for it  BUT  I am quite familiar with these types of antiquities as I have been dealing with them for 40+ years. I guarantee this as genuine and at least years in age and from the areas I have described for the complete period of ownership of the buyer (that is a lifetime guarantee to the original buyer). Bronze Stag Statue, As per title a Beautiful Bronze Stag Statue, the statue was previously painted white and still shows slight bits of lingering paint here and there as shown in pictures. Since having the paint stripped the piece has not seen the outdoors and will probably clean itself once its seen some english weather and the bronze gains some patina! As Bronze Stags go it's a handsome one, not cheap looking and not too muscular as some tend to be. Overall from hoof to tip of antler it stands 6' tall and 4'5" tall from hoof to the top of the head, Overall length from antler to tail is 4'8".
