I have a Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. Bad news - the marble fireplace is broken in parts but can be mended. I think all the pieces are there but I keep finding new bits of it every day. Bad news - the Victorian fireplace has got some superficial rust on it so needs a good scrub and a tin of black plate and will be as good as before. The marble surround features a traditional design from the period, with attractive decorative corbels supporting a bevelled mantelpiece shelf. I have included a picture of what the mantlepiece and fireplace would have looked like originally and could look like again with a bit of tlc. I bought this last year from a family who had, had major renovations done to their home. Unfortunately it was too big for the space I had in mind so ended up purchasing another smaller fireplace. As you can see there is some discolouration and rusting as it was stored in her shed from where I originally purchased, this is easily rectified with a clean you can bring this back to its original form (loads of advice online) It's a beautiful fireplace with all pieces present and correct. Selling THREE of these beautiful Victorian fireplaces which I saved from a builder chucking into skip near our home. They sadly were not removed with great care and are all imperfect in some way. See each listing for details! This particular one has the front grill missing and a couple of chips where it would have been connected (see photo). Annoying there are no shelves for any of the fireplaces - the builder was convinced they did not have shelves - but I'm pretty sure they were sadly deeply buried into the skip. So replacement shelves would be required. The fireplaces have been painted & have flaking paint in places - so do need a bit of restoration.
