A Biedermeier Style Flame Mahogany Secretaire Abattant Fitted Interior A C20th Biedermeier style flame mahogany Secretaire abattant, with fitted interior. The abattant is made from mahogany veneer, which has got a great colour and grain patination. The base section is formed with it being set with three full length drawers, each with brass handles on them. The chest has columns down either side with ebonized pieces inset into them. The base are raised on ebonized feet. The top section is formed with it being set with a top secret drawer. Again it has the columns down the side and it has the ebonized pieces inset into it. The front has the fall front which opens to reviel, the Fitted Interior. The interior is made from an Ash or maple veneered interior. It is set with four pigeon holes to the top and then it has eight smaller sized drawers. This is a great reproduction after the original. Size Height ” Width 41.5” Depth ” Condition The condition is very good, it has light scratches and scuffs. It has a small piece of ebonized wood missing, but hard to tell and it has a small piece reglued on the fall front. Read More

Three good strong graduated drawers beneath two dummy drawers which house the fall down writing surface with brass button release. Inside there are 8 cubby holes and 10 small drawers (some knobs missing). In solid fair used condition commensurate with age and use. Measures approx 45 inches wide x 22 inches deep closed (32 inches with writing surface down) and stands 43 inches tall. We can arrange delivery (ground floor only) at reasonable rates. Inside the desk there is a small door cupboard, pigeon holes and a selection of drawers. Below is a double cupboard with one shelf. DIMENSIONS Height 89" width 48" depth 21" Top lifts off the base for moving. CONDITION The condition of this is good-fair overall but there are a few things that do need to be mentioned. One button handle from one of the small drawers inside is missing. There is small piece of veneer missing from the top of the cornice. Door and drawer keys missing.
