Green and Gold Italian hand-gilded Mirror Anthropolgie-style

Beautiful Anthopologie-style oval mirror. It was originally gilded with gold leaf by hand in Italy, then hand-painted with matte green acrylic paint for a boho/vintage look. The mirror is beautifully made, incredibly sturdy, and in perfect condition. There is a strong hook in the back for hanging. It is beautiful as it is, but in case you wanted to remove the green paint and restore it to the original gold, this can likely be done easily and inexpensively using an appropriate type of paint-peeler. A Biedermeier Style Flame Mahogany Secretaire Abattant Fitted Interior A C20th Biedermeier style flame mahogany Secretaire abattant, with fitted interior. The abattant is made from mahogany veneer, which has got a great colour and grain patination. The base section is formed with it being set with three full length drawers, each with brass handles on them. The chest has columns down either side with ebonized pieces inset into them. The base are raised on ebonized feet. The top section is formed with it being set with a top secret drawer. Again it has the columns down the side and it has the ebonized pieces inset into it. The front has the fall front which opens to reviel, the Fitted Interior. The interior is made from an Ash or maple veneered interior. It is set with four pigeon holes to the top and then it has eight smaller sized drawers. This is a great reproduction after the original. Size Height ” Width 41.5” Depth ” Condition The condition is very good, it has light scratches and scuffs. Ornate gilded English sofa in the style of Louis XIV

A fine example of a late period ornately carved gilded English sofa. Circa , this antique parlour sofa is in the Louis XIV style and reflects the baroque period of the s. An exquisite and elaborately carved sofa displaying gently curving legs has seen sensitive attention to restoration with the charm of the original gilding being left in the condition it was found in. The pediment details slight damage, again it was decided to not overly restore, although this could easily be re-carved. It has been fully reupholstered using modern materials, as the original horsehair was not salvageable. The covering material is an extremely high quality contemporary fabric and was selected to not only compliment the piece but to enable it to sit within a modern setting; braiding has been applied but alternatively double piping could easily replace this feature.
