With the advantage of many many sunny days (around 300 per year), we have around bee hives, depending on the time of year, with at least 20 hives used for queen rearing, bees flying most days in a year, in our relaxed friendly professional atmosphere we can cover; -Introduction to beekeeping, clothing, hive choices, making your own hives. -Bee products, Honey, Pollen, Propolis, Wax and Royal Jelly. -Hive inspections, problem solving, dealing with queen less colonies, forage, hive locations, bee requirements, moving hives. -Colony management, hive increase, swarm control, feeding. -Disease identification and control, from varroa to foul brood and preditors (Asian Hornet) -Queens, marking, clipping, rearing, queen mating and grafting. All courses covered by a beekeeper for 15 years in the UK and Portugal for the last 5 years, and a fully trained development coach, we specialise in different methods of beekeeping from many different beekeepers, always experimenting while keeping it simple, we also use many hive types from National to Deep, Langstroth to Dartington, double and triple brood and 2 and 5 frame Nucleus. As our courses are bespoke, we can completely tailor the course around you, you can choose from one to five days. If you require more theory, observe or hands on inspection of hives the choice is yours!
