LARGE ANTIQUE BARREL TOP STEAMER TRUNK / CHEST AS FAR AS I CAN TELL THIS TRUNK HAS NOT BEEN RENOVATED IN ANY WAY. DIMENSIONS...LENGTH 36" x WIDTH 21" x HEIGHT 30" THE TRUNK IS WOOD COVERED IN THIN BEATEN METAL. IT ALMOST CERTAINLY HAD A TOP TRAY AT SOME TIME IT ALSO SEEMS TO HAVE HAD AN ENCLOSED COMPARTMENT IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUNK LID THOUGH THE DOOR OF THIS IS NOW MISSING. THERE IS NO KEY FOR THE LOCK AND THE CARRYING STRAPS HAVE LONG SINCE DISINTEGRATED THERE IS A SMALL CASTER ON EACH CORNER OF THE BASE. VERY OLD OAK AUSTRALIAN CHARDONNAY BARREL. BEER BARREL

This barrel was taken out of a 150 year old pub during a recent renovation. It has faded yellow writing I believe says Australian chardonnay, I don't no the age of the barrel but it's certainly old.
