Beautiful bay cob for sale
For sale - ÂŁ ono Sonny is a gorgeous and eye catching 15.3hh, 4 year old bay cob gelding. He has an excellent confirmation and is a real beauty. He has a lovely cuddly personality and loves human attention. He will stand for hours to be fussed and groomed alone or in company and is the first to plod over for attention in the field. I bought Sonny as a project a year and a half ago, and he ended up staying with me a lot longer than planned as heâs such a lovely boy! I have ummed and arred for a while now on whether to sell him, but have come the decision that it is now time to sell him on to a one on one home where he will be loved and given all the time in the world to learn and develop into the wonderful riding horse he is becoming. I did list him for sale in December, but then decided I wanted him to be more developed in his schooling before selling on, and two months on he has come on a lot more. I have given Sonny the best start in life I could offer, and unlike many other youngsters, he has not been rushed and so will have a much better and healthier (mentally and physically!) outlook on life for the future. I spent the first year of ownership working with him on the ground using various natural horsemanship methods â taking him out for walks, long lining, wearing tack, halter work etc. He has come on amazingly and last summer he started his ridden work and is happily being ridden at walk, and trot and has just learnt to canter. He is still very green in the school but knows all the basics and I have just started teaching him about flexion etc and to listen to the leg more than the hand. I do hack him out alone, but he can be a bit nervous due to his age (so needs a confident rider), which I am sure will get better with more time and experience. I think he would excel as a great all rounder and /or happy hacker. He has already been boxed out to the local woods with my other horse a few times, where he saw lots of screaming children, dogs, cars, people, ice cream vans and took it all in his stride. He is not typically what you could call forward going, but is straight off of your leg so I wouldnât class him as a plod either â he is a happy medium! That being said, I could easily see him becoming a kick along in the wrong hands if nagged with the leg by an incompetent rider or allowed to nap, hence why I will not sell to a novice rider or owner. However he has never bucked, reared, kicked etc and I think with a few more years under his belt could easily be a novice ride. Sonny was backed and is ridden bitless but can be bitted and although i would prefer him to stay bitless, I would be happy for him to be bitted in his new home. He is also barefoot, and always has been, and I really want him to go to a home who will keep him this way. He has rock crunching feet (some of the best feet my EP has ever seen) and I would he heart broken if they were ruined by metal shoes! He loads first time every time (video avaliable), is excellent for my trimmer and has some of the best feet she has seen so wonât ever need shoes. He is excellent to be tacked up, have his feet picked out, stands for the vet and dentist (no sedation needed) and although he hasnât been clipped I have rubbed clippers all over him and he couldnât care less. He lives out 24/7 all year round un-rugged on a track system, in a herd environment, and I would like him to go somewhere where they will continue to keep him this way. His new home is very important to me and I do not want him bought as a project and sold on further. He really craves human attention and I really want him now to go onto a one on one home where he will be loved and fussed and given lots of attention. His new home will be vetted and I want the new owner to stay in touch and send me lots of updates and pictures. I would also love to meet up for hacks if you are local, so him and my other horse can be reunited. Please donât hesitate to contact me for more information or to arrange a viewing. I am in no rush to sell as the right home is the most important thing to me, and I will keep looking until I have found it which could be the first viewing or the 10th!s His price will go up as his education continues.
