Lovely leather-bound album in very good condition for its age. Cover has beautiful tooled decoration front and back. Size: 30cm x 22cm x 5.5cm approximately. 24 double-sided thick card leaves, each taking 2 or 3 photos on each side. Photo windows all outlined by one thick and one thin gold line. Leather shows a little surface wear at the corners and edges, as you'd expect, giving its authentic antique look, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Binding in good condition. Each leaf attached to the binding by a special strip that allows easy pages to turn easily and lie flat. The album weighs 2.5 kilograms, but delivery by courier is included in the price. Great leather photo album with detailed bronze/brass plaque

Click here to view this lot On the cover of this special photo album photo is a bronze/copper very detailed plaque.The first and last pages have a green colour with gold-coloured drawings.The outside of the album is in beautiful undamaged condition of modified leather with motifs pressed into it. Under the leather is also something with which you can press the cover softly. Also the lock is in pristine working condition.The sides of the pages are golden.The inside of the book is still perfectly bound. The paper in which the photos can be placed is gone on 5 (small) photo spots and on 3 small photo spots and 1 large photo spots there’s wear and tear (see photos)The bottom of the album has 4 protection buttons.The album contains no photos. I have placed a roll of adhesive tape next to it so you can compare the size visually.I have not greased the album (with leather oil) and also didn’t clean the copper/bronze plaque because it might come out. This is not always desired or nice. 2 Victorian Tooled leather photo albums, (no photos) these albums are not perfect but are in good condition for age, The one on the left in the main photo measures 8.5in wide x in; high aprox. 2.25in;thick. clasp is missing, slight damage to spine at top and bottom, but sound binding. Contains 9 full page watercolour embellishments around picture cut outs. Some plain pages have slight damage to cut outs, I think repairable, pages could do with a clean. The album on the right measures 8.5in; x 11in; high by aprox. 1.75in; thick. Spine and page condition as above album. Clasp requires a pin soldering to upper cover and then complete. Antique old brass bound sea chest box trunk with false base compartment.

Please study all photographs carefully as these also form part of the description. Beautiful Victorian Pine Chest / Trunk with brass drop handles. Brass lock escutcheon, and original solid brass quality drop handles. It has had some renovation (mainly a small wood insert in one edge) in the past, as is to be expected because of its age, but it is in a nice polished condition.  It is brass bound, and is made of Brazilian mahogany - very thick and heavy.    It has a false panel in the internal base for smuggling, when it was originally a sea chest, I believe.   I have owned it for 50 years, but I no longer have the room for it.   There is no woodworm - its too hard for the little blighters! A perfect Coffee Table ? Length 77cm Width 45cm Height 47cm It provides an ideal storage solution for papers / magazines or would look fabulous as a lamp or coffee table. A nice piece of furniture to enhance any home. As this is an old chest, the usual marks, and knocks are present commensurate with age and use.
