Taken from human dissections by G V Ellis (George Viner Ellis ) the anatomist and drawn by G H Ford (George Henry Ford ) the artist, whilst printed Mintern Bros. The print dated Mar 1st shows the dissections of the maxilla. (Jaw Bones). Size of Print 18” x 13“(showing) in a frame & mount measuring a total of 23” x 17” Print privately owned since and it was professionally framed by Lleixa Art in London in in a gilded wooden frame with clear glass. (Reflections in photos) Still overwrapped in protective plastic film from the framers. Whilst I have never hung the print, at some time in its life it has been exposed to light before it was framed. This black and gilt framed picture measures 26 cms x 20 cms. It shows Dovedale in Derbyshire and is original, not reproduction. It has been in my possession for over thirty years. On the back it is credited to Allom, dated . It has been hand coloured since colour printing was not available at the time it was published in a book. It is presently located in Malvern for collection. The price of £12 does not include p&p and it can be posted to wherever you are. The photo of this picture was taken very close up - inches away - so it is slightly distorted. A charming antique. I have six framed antique pictures of engravings like this, all have been subtly coloured. The others are of Curzon Street, Derby; Derby Market Place (); Markeaton Hall Derbyshire (J P Neale); Monsal Dale Derbyshire (), and another of Dovedale also by Allom but coloured differently. Antique framed print/picture featuring 2 ladies in a room with a lattice glass window overlooking the spire of a church, with a large pot containing a plant/flowers in 1 corner, dark blue drapes at the window and a representation of a partial picture on the wall. A young lady in Victorian dress is standing looking pensive while an older lady in bonnet, black gloves, a dress with a bodice and a shawl is seated in a wooden chair with a crown decorating the back of the seat. She is holding a letter and appears to be conveying the news to her companion. Nice attention to detail. This is undated and unsigned but may be by LeBlond or George Baxter - I have so far been unable to verify this so leave it to the purchaser to satisfy themselves of its origin before buying. Also have been unable to identify a title for the picture. Probably dates from c 's? Similar style and framing to some other pictures I am selling so it most likely dates from the same era.
