Antique framed printed picture of Queen Victoria by George Baxter (using the Baxter printing process). Frame needs mending/cleaning/replacing. Glass is loose. Backing is original brown paper (now tatty and loose). Gold colour surround but no mount. Frame is dull gold colour wood in a basic/simple/no-frills design. Probably dates c 's but may be earlier. Undated/unsigned. Found while clearing out some old boxes from a relative's loft. Lovely attention to detail. Frame measures approx: 8.25" tall x 7.25" wide x 0.5" deep. Print/picture measures approx: 4.25" tall x 3" wide. Collectible Royal memorabilia. This would need to be collected in person due to its fragility. Antique framed print/picture featuring 2 ladies in a room with a lattice glass window overlooking the spire of a church, with a large pot containing a plant/flowers in 1 corner, dark blue drapes at the window and a representation of a partial picture on the wall. A young lady in Victorian dress is standing looking pensive while an older lady in bonnet, black gloves, a dress with a bodice and a shawl is seated in a wooden chair with a crown decorating the back of the seat. She is holding a letter and appears to be conveying the news to her companion. Nice attention to detail. This is undated and unsigned but may be by LeBlond or George Baxter - I have so far been unable to verify this so leave it to the purchaser to satisfy themselves of its origin before buying. Also have been unable to identify a title for the picture. Probably dates from c 's? Similar style and framing to some other pictures I am selling so it most likely dates from the same era. Frame has some age-related wear. Gold coloured mount. Frame is dull gold colour wood in a basic/simple/no-frills design. Still has original brown paper backing (tatty).
