Hallmarked Walking CANE. 36". Horn/Sterling Silver/Ebony
This black walking stick in finely-textured ebony wood has a smooth finish. Ebony is considered valuable as an ornamental wood. It has come down through our family, though I am unsure as to its exact date. ORIGINS After reading & researching the hallmarks [JH anchor lion O] I think it could have been made in , in Birmingham, England. I could not swear to that though as I am no expert as regards sterling silver hallmarks. So if you interested in its history please do your due diligence on the trademarks. DETAILS Black ebony with signs of wear but no serious damage. Length - 36 inches Circumference - 2½ inches at bottom, 3 inches at top Length of the silver collar part - 2 inches The horn/bone handle is 4½ inches long and 3 inches in circumference If you'd like any more information or to view more photos please contact me.
