I am looking for a forever home for me mare, 9 years old, 15'3 cob x (warmblood passport) unfortunately nearly 2 years ago she damaged her deep digital flexor tendon and I have brought her back field sound but she won't be ridden again, unfortunately I have to have her on full livery due to work commitments so is very expensive to keep her as a pet. She is very nice natured (like a big dog) and loves people, she enjoys a scratch and looks grooming with other horses. She can be handled by children and will just follow you around, even after 6 months box rest she was an angel to turn out waiting for her head collar taking of before she ran into the field and on box rest you wouldn't have know you had her there. With her temperament I think she would make a good brood mare but I have never bred from her so nothing proven. Has been a riding horse however she has a splint on her near fore and therefore can not be ridden. She is very hardy and lives out all year round. I am advertising Meeka as a brood mare or companion. At this stage I have not rode her for around 8 months she was diagnosed with a navicular and because of this I haven't done anything with her on the advise of the vet. Saying that Meeka is a very hardy mare and does not know pain she is galloping around the field as happy as can be. 5 this year absolute beautiful mare. Has been backed last year by myself ridden on roads followed and led. Been out to a few places hired arenas walk trot cantered and popped a jump. Not fased by anything at all.she is nervous and she seems to have been twitched by her ears so can be worried when putting bridle over ears. This does get better the more often it's done. We have decided to put our 16hh mare Honey for sale due to her and my daughter not clicking. Honey has a lovely temperament and is easy to do in all ways on the ground, she is handled by a 13 year old who has no problems with her. She can easily jump 90cm at home, and has free lunged up to 1m30cm. My daughter has taken her to some unaffiliated show jumping between 70 and 90cm where she has proven to be bold over bright fillers. She has also done some unaffiliated arena eventing, been taken to cross country and dressage schooled. She is good to hack alone and in company, she is currently being ridden in light work by my teenage daughter and is ridden weekly by a adult rider. Has been backed for 8 weeks and has been the easiest youngster to do, improves every day and does not say no to anything. Work on the lunge is perfect, listens and responds to voice commands quickly. Loves pole work and self corrects to make sure she doesn't touch them. Schooling is green due to age but is improving every day. Learning to accept contact and work in an established and correct outline. Very well balanced for a youngster and again is improving daily. Has jumped in the school and is taking to this perfectly. Also has done lots of ridden pole work and raised poles. Has jumped logs out hacking around the farm. Great to hack out, not fussed by any traffic.
