We are giving up our lovely 3 hens, approx 22 weeks old, crazily good layers... We really love them and only got them a month or two ago, but we have since sold our house and are moving to a less suitable property with a more urban garden, and also have just had a baby too, meaning altogether they won't get the attention they should do. We would like to give them to a good home. The hens lay around 5 eggs a day currently (between them). There is one black and greeny hen, and two brown hens. Free to a good, FREE RANGE home - 3 hens (one light Sussex and two bluebells) and one light Sussex Cockerel. Must all go together. All hens are laying (lovely big eggs) and will eat from your hand. Sadly cockerel (his name is Hamilton) is aggressive, he will go for you! however is occasionally sweet and will eat from your hand. He MUST be kept, and must be with his ladies! I've hand raised these four from a week old and they are my dear pets. Must be 5* home. Downsizing my flock because I want to start rescuing ex- battery hens in a couple of months. Having to re-home these lovely chickens due to moving. They have just started laying and hopefully will carry on doing as the weather improves and daylight hours get longer. They were purchased from Chelford market last October on point of lay and advertised there as vaccinated. Can provide the galvanised large capacity feeder and water hoppers along with the hens. I have a lovely pair of Lavender Araucana Hens that I want to give away to a good home. I'm a smallholder who usually only keeps hens for a couple of seasons before retiring them to the pot! These two hens are such characters, ranging every part of the holding, sharing the other animals food (risking life & limb stealing from the pigs even!) and are generally very amusing in their antics. Only problem is, I can't bring myself to eat them but I don't want to go down the route of starting a hen retirement village.
