Just putting feelers out there, this 8 year old dude is up for rehoming as companion/nanny for young horse, he has impeccable manners and has babied my young horse for last year....he can't be ridden, due to abnormalities in his back. Hence will Buck you off, he is loss use branded, please no "will he jump discovery or a be100" he cannot be ridden. I can keep him but thought he may do someone a turn if they are looking. Would suit a confident rider as he can put in the very occasional excitable buck but nothing nasty, just a fly buck, and for this reason only not suitable for a complete novice. He has done hunting, jumping, fun rides and has jumped 70cm on training days and cm in competitions this summer. He is barefoot at the moment, but has had front shoes in the past. Due to recently having a baby I am very sadly looking for a forever home for my 16hh, 9 year old thoroughbred gelding. Bertie is a beautiful boy with a lovely temperament who always wants to please. Hacks alone or in company although can be spooky when out alone so not a novice ride, needs a confident rider to reassure him when uncertain. Snaffle mouthed, not at all strong. Fantastic in the school although can lack motivation. A good doer for a thoroughbred, prefers to live out 24/7 and wears front shoes only. Beautiful second competition pony who is sadly desperately outgrown and now looking for a new little person to form a loving and successful partnership with. He has the sweetest nature, is very affectionate and will happily trot across the field to greet you. Very easy to do, good to catch, clip, shoe, box. He Enjoys that type of work the more the better. A fantastic little stamp of a pony 14.2. A few of these at 16.2 would be nice. He is not bothered by traffic. LWVTB basis to ensure suitable pairing, this will need to be approx. 1hr radius of Leicestershire. Totally heart breaking decision due to being outgrown. He is good to shoe, box and trim. Never sick or sorry and no laminitis. Up to date with vet, injections, teeth and back. No lumps or bumps. Very handsome chap and is a proper showman. Truly happy little pony who really enjoys his work. He has done all PC activities with Atherstone (SJ, XC, Dressage, Musical Ride, Games – stirrup/vault, Camp, Showing) and has a very brave/bold jump (would easily affiliate). Quick to learn. He has been professionally produced over last summer and when ridden correctly will work in a lovely outline. Unfortunately my daughter did not ride him consistently. This resulted in Rocky taking charge or getting frustrated. He has never reared, bucked, refused or bolted with her, but he will go faster and faster around a course of jumps. This was totally due to my daughter inexperience and lack of commitment (phone and non-horsey peer group). With a more able and committed rider he will be a total superstar. Despite his sharpness, he is unflappable when out hacking both on roads and on tracks. He is happy to go first or last and has never hotted up. Due to my daughter still wanting to hack out I have held onto Rocky for longer. Over the years they have won a number of competitions, but as he advanced my daughter didn’t keep up. He is currently fat and unfit (for the first time in 4 years). If produced slowly and correctly he will make a cracking competition pony.
