Flying Fifteen sailing dinghy for sale. Will consider swap for: * Single hander dinghy or cat * Small liveaboard * Full suspension mountain bike * Windsurfing / kitesurfing equipment Built by McIntosh/Copland in . Sail number (eligible for 'classic' racing series). All-fibreglass construction. For anyone unfamilar with these keeled dinghies, they were designed by the legendary Uffa Fox and are one of the world's most popular boats for racing series, raced all over the UK (including Holy Loch and Loch Lomond). They go like stink but with the stability advantages of a keel boat. Widely regarded as one of the most enjoyable boats around to sail ("the most fun you can have with a keel on"). Replacements parts are also surprisingly cheap. "Impala" is in VGC for the year, with no sign of hull problems and little work needing done to get her racing. The sails haven't seen much use and are in decent condition, with comparatively minor wear at wear points. To get her fully sailing she needs: * 2 X Shrouds (£ each last time I looked). * 1 X Connector for the mainsail uphaul (should be around £20) The plywood coaming was also removed after rotting at the edges. Simple and cheap fix (ply could be used again, but personally I'd use UPVC skirting or cut perspex sheet glued into the slots). A repair to the rudder could do with repainting. Mast and rigging are in VGC. The gimbal for the main sheet only uses one of its two available pulleys as currently set up. If I was keeping the boat I'd either get a 2nd-hand single-pulley gimbal or a re-rig the sheets to the rear deck to make use of both pulleys and give lower-geared sheeting as on modern F15s. I'd also re-rig the control lines so that they're accessible further aft (currently they're operated from the mast foot). Hull is smooth, but she will need antifoul for the season. She's a good, sound boat looking for someone to personalise and race her. The UK Flying Fifteen association are a good source of info.. Suitable for an individual, couple or family, 'Jey' is a 22 ft version of the popular Jaguar yacht series, known in the US as Catalina. She is a compact, 5-berth yacht, which can be sailed single-handed. Her lifting keel allows her access to many of the idyllic corners that larger, or fixed-keel boats cannot reach. She has been designed as a trail-and-sail, so the mast can be lowered for transporting - or passing under low bridges on in-land waterways. The cabin has a lifting top, which allows comfortable standing, and there are deck fittings for a screen for overnight use. There is a lifting hatch above the accommodation in the bow and the four-seater table in the cabin adapts to make an extra berth. The starboard side features a slide-out sink and cooker facility, above which is the wiring for the vhf radio (included). There is generous locker space and a manual bilge pump. A new manual winch for the lifting keel has just been fitted. A toilet is situated in the forward accommodation.
