8 Year old CHAPS Registered project mare FOR SALE in

The lovely Chloe is offered for sale as a project to an experienced 5* home only. 8 year old approx 14hands CHAPS registered mare. Chloe came to us in May where it became apparent that she was a pacer. She was also previously a welfare case and had been locked in her stable for 12 months with her foal. She was rescued approx a year ago. Due to this she can understandably be a bit weary of new people however she settled in relatively quickly despite this. She is good to catch, happily lives in or out, good for the farrier, and generally a lovely little mare. She can be a bit spooky at times when leading to and from field. She has undergone a lot of ground work and is now working under saddle nicely. Occasionally if she becomes unbalanced she will revert to pacing for a few strides however this is getting less and less each session. She lunges nicely off of voice commands. She needs to go to someone who knows what they are doing and will be able to continue to work with her. She can take 5-10 minutes to settle in the school but works nicely after this. She has a lovely soft mouth and responds nicely to the seat. She has just started doing some canter work undersaddle but is still quite unbalanced although 100% willing to please and give it a go. She has seen some small cross poles but jumping does not seem to be her forte. She has hacked in company where she was forward but spooky at times. Chloe really needs a experienced home who are willing to put the time and effort in with her and not rush her. This home also needs to be quiet and loving not somewhere that will use brute force to get results. She would suit a natural horsemanship home, with someone who will understand her needs. She is a lovely little project for someone and have no doubts that she will make a lovely riding pony for someone. Has not bucked, reared or bolted while with us. Snaffle mouthed. In a mixed herd and acts as mother of the group, very very tolerant of our young ponies that like to run in to her and use her as a rubbing post frequently! She does have a lovely temperament but occasionally has her guard up due to her neglectful past. Honey has a lovely temperament and is easy to do in all ways on the ground, she is handled by a 13 year old who has no problems with her. She can easily jump 90cm at home, and has free lunged up to 1m30cm. My daughter has taken her to some unaffiliated show jumping between 70 and 90cm where she has proven to be bold over bright fillers. She has also done some unaffiliated arena eventing, been taken to cross country and dressage schooled. She is good to hack alone and in company, she is currently being ridden in light work by my teenage daughter and is ridden weekly by a adult rider. She is a forward going talented jumper, being especially brave and bold when it comes to cross country. She has a big scopey jump, currently clearing 1m+ at home and has been out competing locally at 90cm, always going clear and being placed. She is nicely schooled on the flat, will work in an outline with ease and has produced some very nice tests when out competing BE. Although she is forward going, she is snaffle mouthed in all phases and not silly or strong. Scout loads and travels brilliantly, stands on the box with her hay and is impeccable at farm rides, the beach etc. she goes first or last. She is great to clip, for the farrier, be bathed, mane/tail pulled and to catch, being turned out in a mixed herd with no issues. They have been treated by a vet and with maintenance they have not returned. Because of this, she needs all year round turn out.
