Authentic Bourbon bracelet in 14 kt gold, Sicily, mid 19th century. Fantastic bangle bracelet in 14 kt gold, richly decorated with scrollwork. This is an authentic vintage item, full of charm and elegance, entirely handmade with the antique hammering technique, the traces of which can be seen, which was in use during that historic period. It is not a remake; it is an authentic, antique, very beautifully made item of jewellery. In very good condition, the clasp is in perfect working order, with the small safety chain. Fairly wide and visually striking. Size: 6.5 x 5.5 cm, band width 1.4 cm. Bourbon jewellery is characterised by very fine workmanship, despite the not very high value of the materials used. The new manufacturing techniques of the period allowed the creation of jewellery in thin metal foil that was cut and embossed, thus producing items of jewellery with a limited quantity of gold, but with a very vivacious and opulent look thanks to the workmanship and to the use of stones and especially of patterns of small pearls characteristic of the Bourbon era. Generally the quality of the gold is never very high, however it is not always easy to determine the fineness of Bourbon era items of jewellery, because every goldsmith employed his personal 'recipe' for the gold.
