Rare and sought-after vintage sound expander module which was originally designed to provide extra sounds and sit atop any Electone that supports MIDI including HX / HS / HE / EL-series Electones. Nowadays though, anyone with a MIDI keyboard or sequencer can have access to its sounds. There are 12 AWM voices, including Pipe Organ, Strings 1 & 2, Brass, Vocal, Piano, Harpsichord, Acoustic Guitar, Vibraphone, String Bass, Wood Bass, and Timpani. Each voice can be assigned either separately or layered using the Ensemble section. All work through MIDI and you can save registrations on the unit itself (a total of 4 banks), or with a MDR Music Disk Recorder (such as MDR-3). This example is in beautiful condition and it is in perfect working order and comes complete with the original and extremely rare Yamaha PA-W10 power adapter, the original manual, advertising leaflet and "Let's play the 2nd movement of Beethoven's Sonata (Pathetique)" booklet. Overall then, a must-have for an Electone owner or a great source of extra sounds for anyone with a MIDI keyboard. The sounds can be radically modified using the built-in stunningly-lush sounding analogue chorus and tremolo and the 3 band parametric equaliser with sweepable mid frequency and Q-value. These edits can be stored in 56 memory locations for instant recall. Stereo output is on both 1/4" jacks (with 3-position level switch), and XLR 'Cannon' connectors (Balanced, 600 ohms). This example is in perfect working order and it has just been professsionally serviced by James Walker of Synth Repair Services so you can be confident that everything works correctly, safely and smoothly. The service included having a brand new LCD backlight fitted and new smoothing capacitors on the power supply. Also the unit was tested for electrical safety. Cosmetically, the face of the MKS is in excellent condition. There are some scuffs on the top panel and there are no rack ears. There is no user manual but the MKS is refreshingly easy to use so you really won't need one.
