Sturdy first yacht, Lysander 17ft made from fibre glass.

This easy to sail yacht was built in by Febris Marine of Essex. I purchased it in from a Devon man who had a sturdy galvanized trailer made to fit this bilge keel yacht. Since then the trailer has had £600 spent on it to renew running parts. The Yacht had new mast and boom in in with new rigging and warps as required.New main and jib sail. Then in a furling jib and forestay was made and installed. As I have owned it so long you just keep fitting it out as required. But now is the time to pass on this confident little yacht with its big sitting and sleeping areas for up to four persons. I purchased a new Honda 5hp engine in which was very useful to have a reliable power unit. This will not be with the sale, as I may require it ! So to sail, her boxy sections provide stability as the wind pipes up. The way she leans on a chine in the gusts is most reasassuring. I have owned and looked after this s tape deck from new. It is in beautiful condition cosmetically (see pictures) with all parts perfectly intact except for a damaged hinge on the dust cover. I also have the original instruction booklet plus a comprehensive service manual, both in excellent condition. It is a 3 speed 4 track stereo reel-reel recorder, silent in operation with crystal clear sound (frequency response up to Hz) and separate record and playback heads enabling sound on sound /echo and tape monitoring, and with excellent easy to use controls. But after fitting a genuine brand new playback tape head a while ago I think that I must have soldered the wires back incorrectly, so that needs looking at. Also the fast forward button seems to have stuck. I am now hard of hearing and my eyesight is not what it was so I cannot be bothered to try and fix it and it is therefore reluctantly sold for spares or repair, but when working is an excellent machine. Telefunken was one of the premier quality tape recorder manufacturers and this machine once working again will not disappoint. For collection (Upminster). Read More
