For sale is a Vintage Sappers (engineers/demolition) Vest Size Large Exact origins are unknown, appears to be custom made, I have been informed its a reproduction made by silvermans in the mid 's (from a pattern windproof smock) Has a couple of imperfections in fabric, (see photos) Designed for carrying demolitions explosives and related items, this is identical to the issued ones except they were made in olive drab. Similar vests have been used during the later stages of WW2, Korea, french Indo-china and the Rhodesian Bush War.
