WW2 British Airborne Paratrooper helmet dated in

WW Airborne Forces steel helmet with leather harness. A scarce example by Briggs Motor Bodies, Ltd (Dagenham), the skull is painted with light green finish and is complete with webbing and leather chin harness. The leather sweatband bears maker's details of 'B.M.B' and date stamp, size 7 5/8. Some service wear, remains a good example of the pattern. £800 Paypal +4%, bank transfer or cash on collection.

As used by tank crews, the Airborne, and the RAF, The flask is in very good condition with only minor wear and few marks to the paint, Has one small dent on the side, The lid screws on and unscrews as it should, The label is still present on the front and still readable, The cork stopper is intact and in great shape, Inside is very clean, The inside glass looks to be in fantastic condition and free from any damage, Dated on the bottom, The flask is probably still usable. Description: For sale is a British dated Mortar round. It is around 9.5 inches tall. It has an end cap but is otherwise a shell and is of course inert. Four front pockets, press stud flap at the back which fastens at the front, elasticated khaki cuffs, metal vent holes under the arms. Camo cloth it's made from looks hand-dyed to me and of an older canvas type, rather than modern close-weave cotton, but I'm no expert. Collar is lined in a rougher khaki material. Has a hole in the inside collar where the stitching's come undone, has a wear hole in one cuff and some fraying to the cuff edges. Other than that I see no wear or damage. Good for the militaria collector, for re-enactment or general outdoor wear, hunting, shooting, fishing, etc. Probably not very good for jumping out of planes! Not something I will ever use, but quite sought after as I understand it, so better to go to someone who will, I think.
